Interview mit Wayne Hussey

Teil 2 zum Interview mit Wayne Hussey, beantwortet am 29. Dezember 2002
By Petra Sümnicht & Barbara Stiller

Nach den doch mehr ernsteren Fragen im Oktober, hier noch Wayne`s
aktuelle Antworten zu den profaneren Dingen des Lebens...

"THE SHIP SETS SAIL AGAIN..."

Q: What is your present state of mind?

A: I'm ok now. I've finished the tour and starting to unwind a little.
I need a break after the events of this last year.

Q: The last book you read?

A: 'Killing Me Softly' by Nicci French. Picked it up in an airport and read it on a long haul flight. It's pop.

Q: Last CD you bought?

A: The new album by 'Sigur Ros', I recommend it.

Q: Last film you saw?

A: Rosemary's Baby

Q: Your most precious property?

A: My laptop

Q: What makes you mad?

A: Home defeats.

Q: Your most memorable experience?

A: I can't remember.

Q: Your most embarassing experience?

A: End of tour, no clean clothes so I had to wear a 'Hussey' t-shirt. Checking in at the airport and the girl behind the counter sees my t-shirt and says "oh, you're wearing a t-shirt with your name on it, that's cute!".

Q: Three things for a desert island?

A: My wife, a solar powered CD juke box (with 200 CD's), and my guitar.

Q: Do you really like the sweet wine you drink on stage?

A: I really like a good red wine these days......The days of sweet German white wine have long since passed. I've grown up. And yes, I really do like it. Sorry, but your wine in Koblenz WAS pretty sweet :-)

Q: Do you really think that your fans don`t care about who`s in The Mission?
(You said this in several interviews in the German press)

A: My first reaction after Craig left was to believe that fans would care, but after replacing Craig and carrying on and playing shows across Europe and the USA, I have to say that, whilst everyone has their personal favourites and their own opinion, the average person that comes to a Mission show couldn't care less who is in the band as long as we play 'some' songs that they recognize, and play them well. It's about the music, or at least it should be.

Q: And if yes, why do you think like that?

A: See above.

Q: What phrase would you use to describe 2002?

A: They ran like rats from a sinking ship.

Q: What would you like to see happen in 2003?

A: The ship sets sail again.......
